Pretty amazing this God of ours! Though scarlet with sin, when washed in the redeeming blood of the Lamb (Jesus), we become whiter than snow! Pure as if we'd never sinned at all! Praise God and thank you Father forever more! Thank you for loving me even when I was filthy with sin and giving Your sinless life for mine Lord Jesus! Thank you for loving me still, even when I am unlovable! Thank you for being faithful and never leaving me as You promised! I love you and lift your name before Your world and declare You the one true living God with power to save us all! Please save many, many souls Lord!

Today I'm going to share a recipe I served for Christmas dinner. They are always a big hit and they are as beautiful to serve as they are tasty! Warning - they are tremendously hot when they are done, so let them cool 2-3 min. before serving and thank you to Paula Deen who shared this recipe!!!!

Tomato Tarts - makes 2 dozen

Ingredients:
1 sheet frozen puff pastry from a 17 1/4 oz. pkg.
olive oil
1/2 cup grated white Cheddar cheese
4-5 Italian plum tomatoes, cut into 1/4" slices
salt & pepper
2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves, finely chopped
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375. Spray a baking sheet with vegetable oil cooking spray. Meanwhile remove the puff pastry from the freezer and allow to thaw for 20 minutes.

Unfold pastry on counter and using a 1 1/2" or 2" biscuit cutter, cut out rounds of dough. Place the puff pastry rounds on the prepared baking sheet. Prick the surface of the pastry with a fork. Brush each round lightly with olive oil and top with a small amount of the Cheddar cheese, then with a tomato slice. Sprinkle salt & pepper to taste over tomato, then sprinkle a pinch of thyme and about 1 teaspoon of Parmesan cheese.

Bake about 15 minutes. Let cool for 2-3 minutes before serving.

The vase doesn't get to choose what kind of flowers are put into it.

As Christian's, we are servants of the Most High God, not little gods who aught to expect/demand that everything in life be happy, easy and go their way. If you became a Christian so that everything would go the way you want and would be easy, you had better check whether you are saved after all. He called us to follow after Him, to emulate Him, and to expect no better than He had. He had no home, a rock for a pillow, no earthly wealth, multitudes of unjustified persecutions and ultimately, was killed.

So, with this in mind, let's reflect on our attitudes toward the "difficult people" in our lives. Maybe even our marriages or relationships with a family member. Where did we get the idea that we should have everything our way and easy? Where did we get the idea that if we aren't "happy" or things get "too hard" we get to walk away, default on our vows even?

As those bought by the blood of the Lamb, servants of God, we don't get to leave marriages and dump others in our lives simply because we "aren't happy" or because it's "too hard". We chose our spouses and we vowed for better and worse. That's a vow between us, our spouse and God. There is only one reason God gives us to allow for divorce and that is sexual immorality committed by our spouse. Other than that, we are to trust in God and submit to His will for our lives and have faith in Him that He will be with us on the path before us and will keep His promise to make ALL things work together for our good, so long as we are His, love Him and living faithfully to Him.

We need to stop the selfish, self-centered thinking we have today that it's all about ME. It isn't all about you or me. There are others involved and a solemn vow to God. No one promised life would be easy. Muscles aren't made without resistance. Walk your days with your God and let Him develop muscles (fruit of the spirit) in your life through the challenges and be like our Lord in putting others first, not ourselves. Have faith.

For those other than spouses, remember we are that vase and God has the right to put whatever flowers into us He wishes, and all the while we can know it's for our own good!

There are so many truly ugly Smore's these days, but I simply adore these two and I'm sure you will too!

This is such a delicious, quick and EASY dish to add to those left overs to make them exciting again! Parma Style Asparagus - yeah I know, I hate asparagus myself...but this doesn't taste a thing like it and is still healthy!!! It's so good I have seconds and thirds! Try it!

Open and drain two cans of asparagus.
Melt 3 tablespoons of butter/margarine in a sauté pan over medium high heat.
Add 2 cans of asparagus.
Season with salt & pepper to taste.
Sauté for four minutes, turning frequently.
To with 1 cup Parmesan cheese and 1/4 cup bacon crumbles.

How quick and simple is that! And it's a beautiful presentation too!

Merry Christmas! I pray your day is full of joy and health and the Holy Spirit of God! We all know that it's been well proven that Jesus was not born on Dec. 25th. The Bible tells us to celebrate His birth and resurrection every day, so since the world at large has set aside a day to honor His birth, why would we not celebrate it this one day each year?? LOL sounds like cutting our nose off despite our face! Let's give Him honor and glory every day, including on Christmas and rejoice that many who never think of Him the rest of the year soften their hearts a bit this day and just possibly they will allow the Son of God to touch them and be saved!

Thank you Father God for the gift of your only begotten Son, Jesus, who paid the price for our sins and offers us salvation! Thank You for loving us even when we aren't lovable!

Well, it's Christmas Eve! I pray you are with loved ones and that you reflect on the amazing most wonderful gift man has ever received, the Savior of the world - Jesus Christ. He was born of God to a virgin, but He isn't a babe in a manger any more! He was God in flesh as He grew up experiencing life as we do so He could be a compassionate High Priest, interceding for us always before God the Father. He freely gave His life on the cross to pay for our sins, but He isn't hanging there any more! He is risen from the dead, ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father in all power and splendor! There was indeed an amazing star and host of angels hearlding His birth, but there will be an even more amazing scene in the skies when He returns - the sky will be rolled back as a scroll and the trump will sound and with the shout of the arch angel the Lord will descend and the dead in Christ will rise and then those of us who are His and are alive will rise to meet Him in the air and we will ever more be with Him! And woe to those who are not in this number. The wrath of God will be meeted out to all that have not given their lives to Jesus as their Savior.

The message of this season is the birth of God Himself, the Creator, coming to live in human form on the earth, but that is far from the whole story. Tonight, reflect and seek God about the rest of the story. Be sure you make your life right with Him before you go to bed and then wake tomorrow to a new life in Christ and have a WONDERFUL Christmas! God bless you every one!

As a mother I know what the time waiting to get pregnant is like. I know what the months of expecting and waiting to hold your baby are like. I know how you send a birth announcement to everyone who might listen, to share your joy at this wondrous event.

The Bible tells us that before God even made this world, He planned to send Jesus to save us from our sins and make a way for us to rejoin Him in holy fellowship. You see, He knew that man would sin in Eden even before He created the earth. He knew we would need redemption and He knew He would accomplish that through Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son and our Savior.

That means that He didn't anticipate Jesus' birth into this world for 9 months. God the Father had anticipated this event for untold ages and long planned His Son's birth announcement. Then the moment was here! He sent heaven's host to announce the most important birth this world would ever know...the one and only begotten Son of God, born of a virgin! Here is God's birth announcement to mankind for all of time, accompanied with all the glory of heaven!

  • There were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
  • And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
  • And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
  • For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
  • And this shall be a sign unto you; You shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
  • And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
  • Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2:8-14
This is my Merry Christmas to you! May your holiday be filled with joy and love and may you come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior and Redeemer as well as the babe born of a virgin, hearlded by angels and an amazing star. I hope you will take a few moments and read the narrative from the Bible and share it with your family. It's not difficult to read and it's oh so wonderful! Start reading here and you will understand more than just the traditional nativity story: Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:5

Today we are making yummy Cream Cheese Peppermints! This is a great one to do with the kids. It's simple, quick and you use your hands!

Ingredients:
For every ounce of cream cheese (light is okay), use 1 cup of powdered sugar.
Peppermint flavoring (to taste)
Food coloring (as you wish)

Blend cream cheese and sugar, then add peppermint and coloring.

Drop by teaspoons onto wax paper coated with granulated sugar. Roll into balls (the sugar stops the stickiness). Flatten with a fork or rounded spoon.

Let dry.

Done! Store in frig.

You could try other flavorings also.

See all the different colors in the jar of today's freebie? Doesn't the mix make it lovely and interesting? We are all used to people pointing out that the mixture of races (colors) makes life richer and more interesting...but there's more than that.

God gave us each different characteristics as it pleased Him. We've developed more characteristics as we have lived. Even though we are alike in many ways, we are all different in so many ways too. It's these differences that often make "family time" at holidays such a challenge. But just as the differences of races can enrich life, so can the differences in people.

Let's try to give others grace to be different and strive to appreciate the differences, like the balls in the jar. Let's try to stop reacting like everyone should be like us and being judgmental when they aren't. What about the crotchety person? The one who talks too much? The one with the collection of truly um...unique beliefs they can't stop sharing? The one who smothers you with their affections and the one who remains cold no matter what you do to bless them? The one who thinks they are "all that" and the one who is so shy they try to disappear. The one who flaunts their wealth and the one believes the world owes them a living. The one who is wound so tight you feel your skin crawling in attempt to flee.

We can't give the world peace, but we can make peace in our own worlds, at least for the holiday. Let's love others as Christ has loved us and gave Himself up for us. Those of us who have taken Jesus as our Savior have no choice. When we asked Him to forgive our sins and be our Savior, we were bought with the price of His sacrifice on the cross and we aren't our own any more. We belong to Him and He has told us to love one another just as He has loved us and gave Himself up for us. He has said they will know we are Christians by our love for one another. Let's truly LIVE that this holiday, and then try to keep living it the rest of our lives.

It takes all kinds to make a world. It's good we aren't all the same - how boring would that be! Let's look for the beauty in the mixture of personalities this holiday, and remember that God loves every one of us equally. He came to earth to die for every one of us equally, that we all have the opportunity to belong to Him and be saved. If God loves the "difficult person", who are we to reject them? LOL ... and to someone else, WE might be the "difficult person"!!!

Today's recipe is so yummy it's hard to keep them till Christmas!

Brownie Melt-aways

Ingredients:
1 package (21.5 oz) Brownies (your favorite kind)
1/2 cup chopped nuts (0ptional - I don't add them)
3 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup margarine/butter softened
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
about 2 tablespoons milk
2 squares (1 oz. each) unsweetened baking chocolate
2 teaspoons margarine/butter

Directions:
Heat oven to 350. Prepare brownies as directed on package (adding nuts if desired). BAke as directed and cool.

Mix powdered sugar, 1/3 cup margarine and the vanilla. Stir in milk, 1 teaspoon at a time, until of spreading consistency. Spread over brownies. Refrigerate until topping is firm, about 30 minutes.

Heat chocolate and 2 teaspoons margarine/butter until melted. Drizzle evenly over topping and spread evenly. Refrigerate until chocolate is firm, about 15 minutes. Store in frig.

In the spirit of following Jesus' teachings, let's look for those among us who don't have somewhere to spend Christmas with others and invite them to share ours. Let's all put the other person first and show the love, patience and grace of Christ and make it a good day. It can be challenging getting along with family and others, but let's really take a deep breath and remember that the same God who loves and cherishes us also loves and cherishes the person we are finding challenging. Their soul is as precious to the Father as ours is.

Let's not just be material and food gluttons this Christmas, but reach out to others and show them that Christ's coming has changed our lives in real and powerful ways and we want them to be saved and enjoy these blessings also. We can't change the entire world, but we can change our own attitudes and behaviors and in so doing, change the world around us for the better!

Thank You Father for sending Jesus to save us. Thank You Jesus for willingly giving up your home on high to become human, live among us and teach us the way to eternal life. Thank You most of all for being willing to die on the cross to pay for our sins and make a way for us to be redeemed so that we can spend eternity in heaven with You. We praise You and worship you, not only at Christmas time, but every moment of the lives You give us! Please make us more like You this coming year and may we glorify You and bring others to know the blessing of being Yours!

I'm going to share another recipe today - a big family favorite here. Can't make them this year because of no mixer and I can't do that much by hand, but YOU can and they are sooooo good!

Brown Sugar Pecan Rounds

Ingredients:
1/2 cup margarine or butter
1 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
1 egg
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. soda
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans

Heat oven to 350. Cream butter and sugar thoroughly. Beat egg in well. Measure flower by dipping method. Stir dry ingredients together and blend in. Stir in pecans.

Drop by 1/4 teaspoonfuls about 2" apart on greased baking sheet. (Cookies flatten and spread). Bake 7-8 min. Makes 10 dozen 1 1/2" cookies.

Just as these carolers are singing praises to God for the gift of His only begotten Son, Jesus, let's join in and not just switch off our minds as we sing to Him, but truly think about what we are saying. Think about the wonderful words to Christmas carols. They show those who wrote them had awesome relationships with their Lord and amazing insights. Be inspired by what they share in the songs and seek Him with all your hearts, as the wise men sought Him so long ago. He promises, "When you see Me with all your hearts, then you will find Me." Nothing less than our very best is worthy of Him and He doesn't accept second place. Jeremiah 29:13

Today I'm going to do something different. I'm going to share a fun, tasty and simple recipe to help with your holiday. Since I haven't had a mixer since summer when mine broke, this year I'm only making what doesn't require a mixer! These are soooo tasty and easy the kids can help! In fact, it was my daughter who gave me the recipe!

Ingredients:
1 package regular Oreo cookies
1 package cream cheese, softened
1 package chocolate almond bark.

Directions:

  1. Turn cookies into small crumbles any way you wish.
  2. Mix cream cheese into cookie crumbs thoroughly.
  3. Can chill to work with or just use two spoons to shape into bite size pieces (or balls if chilled).
  4. Place close together on cooling rack on top of cookie sheet. I fit an entire batch on one rack.
  5. Melt almond bark in microwave by package directions.
  6. Spoon over cookies to coat.
  7. When it stops dripping, remove rack from cookie sheet or it will harden together.
  8. Let cookies set.
  9. Cut cookies apart with knife and loosen from rack.
  10. Put in container with plastic wrap or wax paper between layers.
  11. Seal and keep in frig.
Variations:
Mold dough around maraschino cherries, then coat.
Mix some peppermint extract into the dough.

Enjoy and don't let yourself get so busy that you neglect your Bible study time, worship, prayer and your quiet times with God. After all, though He wasn't actually born this time of year, celebrating His birth is the reason you are so busy, so don't leave Him out or end up spiritually farther away from Him after the holiday because of your worldly celebrations and activities. Priorities! Merry Christmas!

Rejoice that you are adopted as a child of the Most High God! Rejoice that if you are faithful till the end, you will spend eternity in heaven with Him and never face the penalty of hellfire for the things you have done! Rejoice always, but especially this time of year when the world honors God's amazing gift of the Christ coming to earth to save us! Rejoice!

That's a far cry from how I hear His name used these days. When you draw someone's attention to what they just said, they think nothing of it and will often deny they even said it.

" You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain." Exodus 20:6-8

What does "take in vain" mean? Any time you use a form of the names of God in any way other than discussing Him, reading it aloud, speaking to Him or worshiping Him you are taking His name in vain.

It's not a light matter to use the names of our Lord and Father God as curse words. There is a day of judgment coming swiftly.

Today I'd like to share a gem my daughter gave me this week. I hope it blesses you as much as it is blessing me.

I have just completed my "life's work". That which I leave for those who come after me. Something I've literally spent years and many thousands of hours, (and money), creating. I have poured myself into this in every way, to an extent you can't imagine. It was initially for my daughters and their children after them, but because my Lord taught me to treat others the way I wish to be treated, I naturally thought to bless everyone in my immediate family, as it applies equally to them. I spent months trying to wrangle some way I could pay for each to have their own.

That was a few days ago. My world has changed greatly since then and it will never be the same. To my great shock, unimaginable evil attacked me in the very act of laying my life's work before those I loved and served. My gift of love. My gift of myself. On top of that, this was to be my entire Christmas for everyone. Now there is nothing and no way to regroup.

For the record, my daughters both love and appreciate the gift I tried to give them, as they've watched me labor on it so long and know the price I've paid for doing it. They are being such a blessing upholding me spiritually in this devastating time that no one could have imagined.

And here is my reason for sharing something so personal - the gem from my daughters that has amazed me and I am still holding in prayer.

I said, "This is not how I pictured finally finishing this and offering it to my loved ones.

She said, "God offered the greatest gift anyone could ever give, salvation, to the world of souls He loved so much...and it didn't go as you'd expect either. Crucifixion."

Wow. That hit me and put things in perspective.

Then she said, "But then He took what the enemy meant for evil and turned it into the glory of the Resurrection!"

If you aren't shouting now, check your pulse!

The only other thing I can add to that is to remind you of the verse that tells us not to expect to be treated better than our Master was. John 15:20

Now for today's goodie. I choose to respond to this situation by giving EXTRA GOODIES to you because of what has been done to me. You see, satan had his plans and he has taken his pound of flesh, but I WILL NOT give him more of a victory over me than he has already achieved! I will rejoice because MY GOD IS GREATER than anything man or the devil can do to me and He has saved my soul from hell! I will not serve the devil by responding in kind or becoming bitter or stopping giving to others because of what's been done. The Word of God tells me that I am more than a conqueror through Christ and I believe His Word! So enjoy today's extra goodies (and yesterday's) and spit at the devil when he comes skulking about you! He is a defeated foe. Christ won the victory on the cross and all we have to do is align ourselves with the winning team! Praise you Lord! It is hard and hurts terribly now, but in You I know all is well and I praise Your Holy Name!

Saturday my daughters took me to see the Radio City Rockettes and the Grinch Ice Show, then we walked around the winter wonderland of the Opryland Hotel, their gift to me. Wow! I am so blessed to have such wonderful daughters!

They don't allow cameras at the Rockettes, so I have nothing to share with you, but here are some pictures from the ice show and the Opryland Hotel. Hope you enjoy! Much warmer seeing them this way! LOL! Here's the man himself in an igloo.
These people are going up to slide down the ice slide. Sweet who babies!
The nativity is too huge for one picture, and these really don't do it justice. There's much more than shown here. It's truly marvelous.

The impact this one has is impressive! He towers over you and is just awesome! Makes me think of when our Lord returns and the trumpet will sound and the shout of the archangel and the Lord will descend and we who are His will rise to meet Him in the air, changed in the twinkling of an eye to be like Him, and ever more we will be with the Lord! Hallelujah, come Lord Jesus!
These three are of the Opryland Hotel. I simply couldn't get my camera set right for the lighting so...this is all I have to share. It's such an awesome place even in the summer, but Christmas, well, there's no place like it!
These are topiary reindeer!
That's a giant Christmas tree in the middle. Today's freebie is nothing short of fabulous in my opinion. I made him for you from my anniversary trip to the Smokeys this November. Would love to see how you use him!

I hope we are all taking time to pray for our service personal across the world and their families. This is something we should do always because they are in harms way and away from loved ones to protect US and OUR freedom. They are paying the price. It's especially difficult for them this time of year, so let's not miss any opportunity to do good for their families. We are given only today - let's make the most of it!

Special prayers for those who are wounded and those who have lost their loved ones. It's too easy to just walk through each day and forget those who are making "this day" possible for us. Let's lift them before our Father's throne most tenderly and lovingly, every day. Merry Christmas to all of you who are military families or have loved ones who are! God bless every one of you!!!

And one last word...I want to give thanks for the special someone in our lives who God has brought home safely very recently and who is growing in the Lord in most wonderful ways! We thank You and praise You Lord!

And they came into the house and saw the child with Mary His mother; and they fell down and worshiped Him; and opening their treasures they presented to Him gifts of gold and frankincense and myrrh." Matthew 2:9

Will we be wise men? They saw the only begotten Son of God and rejoiced exceedingly, fell down and worshiped Him laying their treasures before Him.

We have the benefit of knowing not only the miracle of His virgin birth, but the glory of His resurrection from the dead, His paying the price to redeem us from hell. Will we also discern the only begotten Son of God? Will we rejoice exceedingly? Will we fall down before Him and worship Him? Will we realize that the only real value our "treasures" have is in their being given to Him in worship?

Today is fresh and new and is our chance to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, repent of our sins, ask Him to be our Savior, begin living in obedience to Him and be immersed in water baptism in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

This is the only moment we have been given. Don't let it pass with eternity looming before us. It will either hold endless joy or endless torment. The choice is ours alone.

Now isn't he cute with all his holes????

Christians are like this snowman. Our lives before coming to Christ were shattered into many pieces. The Christian walk is a life of conforming our thoughts, actions and attitudes to those of Christ Himself. As we do this, we become more like Him.

But we still have cracks here He puts the pieces back together. Ever wonder why? It's so that as He fills us up with Himself, His love, His grace, His power, it will leak out for those around us!! Pretty awesome isn't He?

You see, only part of why He fills us this way is for ourselves. He wants us to be pouring His treasures out on others and then He will fill us again.

Let's not be selfish, self-centered, carnal Christians and try to greedily keep Him all to ourselves. We are servants bought with a price. 1 Corinthians 6:20 We are His ambassadors. 2 Corinthians 5:20 We are charged with spreading the Gospel (good news) to a lost and dying world. Let Him "leak" out of us and bless those around us. Let us be found workmen worthy of our wages!

No matter what you are going through right now, it may have taken you by surprise, but it did not surprise God. He is eternal. He exists outside of time, in eternity. He created time only for man's stay on earth while we have the opportunity to love and accept Him as our Savior. He gave time a beginning and an end. He decides both and it will be as He wishes. He says He has seen the end from the beginning.

Stand and hold your arms out in front of you as if to lift a child. You are God (for this demonstration). Your right hand is the beginning of time, the creation of the earth. Your left hand is the end of time, the end of the earth and judgment of all mankind. All of "time" stretches between your hands. Eternity is everything that is not between your hands, without beginning or end.

You can see how you are outside of the created thing "time". You can look and see the entire thing called "time" from start to end. This is how He knows the end from the beginning. This is how He knows "His own" - those who will choose Him and be faithful until death, because He has seen the end.

This should give us great comfort, knowing that since He has seen all that will come to pass and all the choices we and others will make, nothing surprises Him. He has already planned a way out!!!

"No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, that you may be able to endure it." 1 Corinthians 10:13

Sure, that is talking about "temptation" and we are talking about the cruddy things that happen in life, but it still shows that God is faithful, isn't surprised by anything that happens in your life and has already provided a way out for you! Take heart, if you belong to Him, He is watching over you and is not only leading you, but is also your rear guard protecting you from behind. Isaiah 52:12 If you don't belong to Him yet, doesn't this sound like a great deal?

Today's freebie is the last of the Pods and Berries. I do so adore all the pods, berries and dried treasures of the fall! I hope you have enjoyed them all. One of the fastest growing, most beautifully shaped and splendidly blossoming trees in our area of the country is the Bradford Pear. It's shaped like a perfect plump teardrop fallen from heaven!

This is a page from a book I published of pictures from my back yard accompanying things God has taught me. Here you can see it blooming in the spring, with a cardinal perched at it's top bare branches in the winter, it's trunk pockmarked by our woodpecker and being used as a trellis by the ivy, and lastly a gorgeous pile of leaves carpeting the ground underneath it just now. Your freebies are it's fruit. Thank You Lord for your bountiful blessings! May we never take them for granted!

What is a "want" and what is a "necessity"? Knowing the difference can change how you experience life in the most powerful and wonderful way. Most of us in America are so affected by what the media assaults us with all the time that we no longer know the difference. You may have to really put some effort into figuring it out, but it will be well worth the effort. Give it a try and really take it seriously.

A "necessity" is something that you literally can not survive without.
A "want" is something that you desire, but can surely literally survive without.

I need a 3,000 sq. foot house.
I need my cell phone, IPhone, IPod, Blackberry, etc..
I need cable TV, satellite, etc.
I need a Wii, Xbox, etc.
I need an expensive vacation.
I need an expensive car.

If you really think about it, very few things are actually "necessities" to survival. Food, water, shelter, and on the eternal stage, a personal relationship with Jesus Christ to save your soul.

Life has only so many hours in it and nothing you can do will add to it.

How much of your time is spent trying to obtain your "wants"?

Who is paying the price for all the hours you spend working just for your "wants"?

When you are leaving this world, will you look back and rejoice that you spent all those hours earning money for your worldly "wants" that will all pass away, or will you in remorse wish you had instead spent those hours with loved ones, especially little ones God has entrusted to you?

There is a day of reckoning coming for all of us.

Wouldn't it be preferable to figure it out and strike a healthy balance now?

God bless every single mother struggling to provide for her children and suffering because she cannot be with them. You are among the most noble of all and I honor you and pray God blesses you.

One of my fondest memories of growing up in Illinois were the long walks to school and the treasures I'd find along the way. My favorite was the Milk Weed Pods with shimmering insides filled with seeds with wings of silk that floated away as if alive. I haven't found any where I live in 25 years. I'd always wanted to show them to my children. Thanks to my sister-in-law who found me some and sent it to me last year, I can give these treasures to you.

Take a moment today to think of something that makes you happy. Meditate on it and let thankfulness fill your heart and overflow in praise and thanksgiving to the One who provides it all to us daily.

Life can get pretty challenging and painful at times. We pray, even fast, crying out to our God from the depths of our souls, yet things remain the same or even get worse. These are times that offer us a chance to grow in likeness to Christ and produce spiritual fruit - or reveal great lack in our commitment to God and our faith. We need always remember...

We are on God's schedule, He is not on ours.

Couple that with His promise to make "all things work together for the good of those that love Him and are called according to His purpose", and it should help us through the difficult times. Romans 8:28

Speaking of time and schedules...I made this for a page about my grandparents. They always had a kuku clock like this in their kitchen. I hope you find it useful and I pray that the Almighty God of heaven and earth will meet your every need abundantly, and if His will is for a time of trial and struggle, then He said to "consider it all joy, when we find ourselves in manifold trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."! Hallelujah! James 1:2-4

Today's freebie is a Magnolia pod. They are sooooo cool! This photo I took shows you what the Magnolia blossom looks like. They are way bigger than my hands. Way to go God! In the end, the center turns out to be this way cool pod. I love to decorate with all kinds of pods and they are so good in LOs too.
