It seems odd to me to hear so many stories on TV of people feeling the financial "pinch" these days and being completely unaware of how to optimize what they have. I have been surprised to find that not everyone has had to pinch every penny till it screams all their lives, because so many of us have. So I thought I'd share some things I do to save money and fill a need that could help someone. Soooo...

MoneySaverTip5: Saving Money at the Store
When I was looking for a sofa, I saw a worn spot on a floor model that was already on clearance. I was concerned that it would worsen quickly because it was a velvety fabric and the wear was on the sharp edge of the wooden frame. But money was non-existent and so I decided to take the risk. Pointing out the spot and voicing my valid concerns reduced my price and it hasn't worsened in the 12 years I've had it!

  1. Always point out defects and ask for a discount.
  2. Buy floor models when you can - they should be discounted.
  3. Shop clearance items, but check them carefully.
  4. Shop stores that carry close outs.
  5. Shop Good Will and other stores of that type.

And how is this inspirational? We are to be good stewards of all God gives us! This is not only saving money, but recycling! Praise the Lord in ALL THINGS! If you'd like more of these, let me know and have a super day!
