Your Grace Is Enough by Chris Tomlin

I have another great worship song for you today:

Your Grace Is Enough by Chris Tomlin lyrics:
Great is Your faithfulness oh God
You wrestle with the sinner's heart
You lead us by still waters and to mercy
And nothing can keep us apart

So remember Your people
Remember Your children
Remember Your promise
Oh God

Your grace is enough
Your grace is enough
Your grace is enough for me

Great is Your love and justice God
You use the weak to lead the strong
You lead us in the song of Your salvation
And all Your people sing along

So remember Your people
Remember Your children
Remember Your promise
Oh God

Your grace is enough
Your grace is enough
Your grace is enough for me (x2)

So remember Your people
Remember Your children
Remember Your promise
Oh God

Your grace is enough
Your grace is enough
Your grace is enough for me

Your grace is enough
Heaven reaching down to us
Your grace is enough for me
God I see your grace is enough
I'm covered in your love
Your grace is enough for me
For me

MoneySaverTip25: Dishwasher Cabinet
To recap for new readers, my house was foreclosed, vacant and vandalized for years before I got it and needed everything while I had almost no funds. So, there was a dishwasher. Yeah! Not really. It didn't work and had pieces hanging off it, was filthy, really old and an eyesore. I wanted it removed for several years, but I was intimidated by the plumbing aspect and didn't think I could physically get it out. I got no help, so there it was, ugly and wasting precious cabinet space.

One day I screwed up my courage and tore into it. Hated even touching it, it was so icky. Well, I got it past the point of no return and couldn't go farther. I called a sister-in-Christ who had a handy husband and, God bless Bobby, he came over - from another town!!! and he finished pulling it out and got it to the road for me. God bless you Bobby where ever you are!

:) Now what did I see? A huge cavity in my cabinets! I couldn't get a new one; couldn't have afforded to run it even if I had one (they cost a lot in utilities). But I saw cabinet space, which was sadly lacking in my old kitchen. Back to Lowe's or Home Depot - I used them both. And I told them I wanted to build a shelf in the middle of it. They helped me figure out how to do it and though actually doing it was a bit tricky, with God's help I did it and stained it all to match! I measured for doors to cover it and got matching hinges and knobs. Sadly that part didn't go as well. I just wanted flat pieces of wood that I'd stain to match the cabinets. That would be good enough for me. Apparently it would take equipment I didn't have and so a man working there said he'd do it for me and to leave the stuff with him. Yup, that was the end of that, God bless him. But I have been so blessed with all that extra storage space all these years! Would be nicer if there were doors to hide it away, but this is GREAT!

And a last thought on those old kitchen cabinets...way too expensive to replace the doors to update them, but just replacing the nobs with simple brass ones for $1.98 completely changed the feel of the room. Soooo nice!

The total cost was almost nothing and time spent wasn't bad. And how is this inspirational? We are to be good stewards of all God gives us! This is not only saving money, but recycling! Praise the Lord in ALL THINGS! If you'd like more of these, let me know and have a super day!

"Faith without works is dead." James 2:26

We've all heard it said, "Your life is too loud for me to hear what you say." This means a person is not living the Christian life, so others won't listen to you "preach" at them - they see how you actually live.

But the reverse is also true. If we are truly saved, are truly living the Christian life, there will be fruit evident even to those who are outside the Body of Christ. They may not be able to put into words what's different about us, but they will most certainly notice and the Holy Spirit can use this to draw them to Him.

There are so many small ways we can show the love of Christ to this world, we just need to keep our eyes open so we see the opportunities. One easy way is when we are shopping and have a coupon we decide we won't use after all. Give it to someone who is looking at that type of product or just leave it laying on the item it's for. If you have a more general situation, say "$5 of a $20 purchase", just ask God to show you who to give it to. You'll both be blessed!

Today I'm giving you a yummy Cheese Pizza for all those summer picnic & party LOs. I made this years ago using a free action called PizzaPizza!

A dear follower of this blog recently shared a couple of devotionals she received from The Word For Today. They were so powerful that I want to share them with you in prayer that you too will be blessed. Here is one of them:

Today, encourage somebody (2)

  • "'Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad.' Proverbs 12:25
Henry Ford and Thomas Edison were friends; they met at a convention sponsored by Edison's company where Ford worked as an engineer. Someone introduced Ford to Edison as 'a young man who has made a gas car.' Ford and Edison talked a while about the automobile, then Edison banged his fist on the table with excitement. 'You have it! Your car is self-contained and carries its own power plant.' Ford later recalled, 'No man up to then had given me any encouragement. I had hoped that I was headed right. Sometimes I knew that I was, sometimes I only wondered, but here, out of a clear sky, the greatest inventive genius in the world had given me complete approval.' Sir Isaac Newton is best known for his Theory of Gravitation and description of the Three Laws of Motion. But Newton might never have published his work had it not been for Edmond Halley. A well-respected scientist in his own right, Halley visited Newton at Cambridge to discuss a problem he was working on, only to discover that Newton had already solved it. Halley encouraged Newton to publish his work, and even offered to do it at his own expense. The result was the publication of Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica in 1687, which laid the groundwork for the study of mathematics and changed the way people see the world.

Who can you encourage to do great things? Who has God put into your life to cheer on, raise up, or assist on their journey? When you help others to do the things God created them to do, you share in their achievement.

MoneySaverTip24: Counter Top
This one you'll never believe, but necessity is truly the mother of invention. Again for those who haven't been following, my house was foreclosed, vacant and vandalized for years before I got it. It needed everything! Among problems we could live with for a while was a really messed up kitchen counter. It is one of those faux ones you buy at Home Depot or Lowe's and had been beaten up pretty well and was UGLY too! I priced buying a new one and how to put it in and that wasn't an option from many angles so...
  • As with all my repairs, I'd go to one of the hardware stores, describe my problem then write down what they told me to buy and how to do it. I'd go home and try, and sometimes it was a process of several trips before all was going well. They were SUPER! Don't be afraid to ask!
  • I told them I was going to refinish my counter. After the shock of, "You can't do that!" wore off, I bought a few things and here's how it went.
  • I used wood filler to fill the small defects and sanded it smooth.
  • I lightly sanded the entire counter to roughen the smooth finish so it would accept product, being careful to remove all dust.
  • I painted it with a special glossy surface primer per directions.
  • Then I painted it with two coats of my wall paint...yes, that's what I had so that's what I used...a neutral white wall paint.
  • This is the step I wish someone else had advised me on, because over the years it has yellowed, but it was beautiful for quite a while. I bought the high gloss finish they recommended and in the end had put on three coats for longevity.
  • Now this stuff really smelled and was not good for you. I ended up tacking thick painters plastic over the door from the kitchen into the house and it really helped once I had it up, but it was a rough couple of days for the girls and I.
In the end, I had a fairly normal looking glossy counter that was smooth and all one color. It no longer was a sore thumb. I have used it for 12 yrs. now I think and it's only started to chip a little from heavy things dropped on it in the last 2 yrs. It's still wholly usable and though it took time and was a LOT of work, it saved a lot of money and I knew I was not able to install a new L-shaped counter myself. I had more time than money. I have been careful not to set hot things on it but rather put them on the stove. And I learned not to set plastic bags or boxes on it while wet because the print will come off onto the counter. A nylon scratchy pad removes it, but also some of the gloss. It's not a big deal to set those things in my dish rack to avoid the situation.
So, again I'd encourage you not to be intimidated by "doing it the right way". Be creative. Some repair is better than none! (Still need to refinish the cabinets...)

The total cost was $ . including tax and time spent was about 10 minutes. And how is this inspirational? We are to be good stewards of all God gives us! This is not only saving money, but recycling! Praise the Lord in ALL THINGS! If you'd like more of these, let me know and have a super day!

I recently got a lovely e-mail from someone who actually read my personal testimony (which is included in every download). It was good to hear her take on my testimony. It's my intention, to be real and open so that others may be able to relate, come to Jesus and be saved. I don't feel we have the right to hide the facts when it could be used by the Holy Spirit of God to bring someone to eternal salvation. I have nothing to be proud about, so I have nothing to loose. There is no point in hiding the truth. I have been bought with a price, the sinless blood of Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of Almighty God and all my life is His to use as He wishes. My glory is the grace and mercy of God that I don't, and can't ever deserve, yet am swathed in for eternity, praise God! I do try to use wisdom as to what and how much I share with who, as it's not all appropriate for everyone. But I won't stay silent if sharing could show someone else in a similar place that there is not only hope, but wondrous joy and freedom! It's also everyone's challenge to make sure their testimony doesn't glorify the sin by focusing more on the sin they did before they asked Jesus to be their Savior than the glorious changes God has brought about in their lives since.

Today's gift is a Zebra for your zoo or vacation LOs. There is a rich place in the country here where they keep llamas, zebras and things in pastures with cows! That's where I took this pic.

A dear follower of this blog recently shared a couple of devotionals she received from The Word For Today. They were so powerful that I want to share them with you in prayer that you too will be blessed. Here is one of them:

Today, encourage somebody

  • "'Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad.'" Proverbs 12:25
The nineteenth-century writer Walt Whitman struggled for years to get anyone interested in his poetry. In the midst of his discouragement he received a life-changing note from an admirer of his work. The note read, 'Dear Sir, I am not blind to the worth of the wonderful gift of Leaves of Grass. I find it the most extraordinary piece of wit and wisdom that America has yet contributed. I greet you at the beginning of a great career.' It was signed by Ralph Waldo Emerson. Whitman enjoyed a long career and is now considered one of the giants of American literature. But when times were tough he needed encouragement to keep going. And he's not alone. When we're on the brink of failure, the right word at the right time can keep us in the game. When we're too tired or discouraged to keep going, an act of compassion can give us new strength. Encouragement is one of the central themes of the Bible: 'Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad' (Proverbs 12:25). 'Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees' (Isaiah 35:3). 'For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you'' (Isaiah 41:13). Encouragement doesn't deny the problem; it enables us to overcome it. It doesn't validate stubbornness or stupidity; it simply corrects and guides us in the right path. It doesn't leave us alone to carry the burden, it lets us know that God is present to help and strengthen us. So today, encourage somebody!

MoneySaverTip23: Tiffany Lamp
I had ALWAYS wanted a tiffany style light. When I got this house it had been foreclosed, vacant and vandalized for years. It needed EVERYTHING including light fixtures. I found this one at a Lowe's or Home Depot in a clearance pile. A piece of the black faux leading was missing. I bought it, took my handi dandy Sharpie marker and colored on the stained glass where it should be and voila! Bet you can't guess where the "repair" is! (It's the bottom edge of the white shape touching the left bottom of the rose.)
The total cost was $25 and time spent was about 30 seconds! And how is this inspirational? We are to be good stewards of all God gives us! This is not only saving money, but recycling! Praise the Lord in ALL THINGS! If you'd like more of these, let me know and have a super day!

A dear follower of this blog recently shared a couple of devotionals she received from The Word For Today. They were so powerful that I want to share them with you in prayer that you too will be blessed. Here is one of them:

Brokenness (4)

  • "'The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit.'" Psalm 51:17 NIV
We don't always know the reason for our trials, but God revealed to Paul the reason for his 'thorn in the flesh.' It was to keep him from being 'exalted' (See 2 Corinthians 12:7). Success can be intoxicating, and intoxicated people aren't known for being too bright or trustworthy!
What happens when you get a thorn in your flesh? It hurts. And you'll let everything else go while you focus on removing it. Three times Paul prayed for God to remove the thorn, but God had another plan. You see, God is at His strongest in us when we are at our weakest. When Paul discovered that God's power in his life was tied to the thorn that afflicted him, he responded, 'I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities...For whenever I am weak, then I am strong' (2 Corinthians 12:10 NRS). In other words, 'If it's for my good, bring it on, Lord!' If you've a thorny person in your life from whom you've prayed to be delivered and it hasn't happened, maybe God wants you to experience His grace and power through dealing with that person. But you won't experience this until you move from pain to praise. The Bible speaks about 'the sacrifice of praise to God' (Hebrews 13:15). A sacrifice means that something has to die on somebody's altar. So if you want to experience God's grace and power in your life, you must be willing to die to self-interest, ego, and independence. There's nothing wrong with asking God to remove your thorn. But when your prayer for deliverance turns to praise, you're on your way to power, because God is giving you grace.

MoneySaverTip22: Hanging Draperies
As I've said before, when I got my house, it had been foreclosed, vacant, vandalized and empty for years, so there were many needs and almost no funds to bring the entire house up to livable, so I had to be creative. This is one of my living/dining room windows. Remember, we don't see these up close in normal life.
  • I got very cheap green tab curtains to put at the sides of my windows for about $20. This is where most of the sun comes in and, being cheap, they aren't lined to delay fading. I decided that I'd hang them on rods longer than the windows so I could hang the curtains against wall instead of windows to protect them. This also makes my windows look larger.
  • I was blessed to find long scarves that actually matched my sofa pillows. They were a painful $60 each, but really ties it all together.
  • I put up plastic mini-blinds for about $3 per window.
  • When I looked for rods that would look ok, since most of the rod would show with the tab curtains all the way to the sides and only a scarf draped in between, the pricing was awful, especially for the lengths I needed. I ended up with faux painted gold rods...with raw ends...hmmm.
  • I needed a way to mount them to the walls and mounts were pricey too, but I found these sconces at Walmart for $10 per pair - my cheapest option. They are too busy for most people but suited my loves and my decor just fine...except the colors clashed terribly. Look at the "bones" of things, not always the colors - they can usually be changed. So back to my $.98 bottles of acrylic paint and I changed the offending colors to ones taken from my pillows and matching scarves. The gold on them worked with the gold rod.
  • So now I had very raw rod ends showing in my sconces. Finiels were expensive and I'd need four for this room. I went to a craft outlet store and got assorted shapes which I combined into what you see. I screwed them into the end of the rods and painted them to match.
  • A side note about the acrylic paint...I also had a beloved set of napkin holders that were roses...of the wrong color for my dishes, so years earlier, when I bought them, I'd painted them to match the dishes and now they went with the dining/livingroom decor too!
  • The gold and white cord you see just drapes over the top and ends in really elaborate big tassles I got for almost nothing at another outlet store later on and the are the finishing touch!
The total cost was so much less than going the traditional ready made route entirely and those who come to my home say it looks very rich and elegant.

My oldest daughter has a window where she used a long, slightly bending branch I pruned from a Crepe Myrtle bush as her rod. Then she took a gauzy drapery pannel from Good Will and sewed lengths of ribbon to the top hem every so many inches and then tied them in pretty bows over the branch. She tacked (small sewing stitches) small, neutral colored silk flowers scattered sparcely over it. Then she did a cleaver treatment to the bottom catching it up every so often which gives it gentle scallops. She dressed this window in perfect Shabby Chic for only $3!!! She's used it in two homes so far!

And how is this inspirational? We are to be good stewards of all God gives us! This is not only saving money, but recycling! Praise the Lord in ALL THINGS! If you'd like more of these, let me know and have a super day!

Today's gift is a lovely bird for your summer LOs.

I am very honored that some of my artwork is being used to create a calendar that Be'ad Chaim (Pro-Life Israel) is going to sell as a fund raiser. In talking with the woman in charge she has really shocked me with heartbreaking facts that we should all be aware of so that we know better how to pray. I'm not sharing anything graphic, so you needn't turn away, just statistics. But the fact I need to say that should tell us something. If discussing or showing the truth about abortion is too harsh for people to look at, might there be something wrong with it? After reading what she has shared, you might like to read this post I made earlier.

"In Israel, abortion is still a very taboo subject. Women don't want to hear that it's a baby, and when they know, they go ahead and do one anyway because there is so much pressure here to "provide well" or to have only "wanted babies". We estimate there are about 40-50 thousand abortions here a year - one in every 4 children is killed in the womb. Israel has both the largest number of pre-natal tests (and subsequent abortions when any risk of birth defects is found) and the highest rate of IVF treatments given freely to women through the health system. It is as if babies have become a commodity, like clothes, that can be bought and thrown away at will. Recently there have been some widely publicized stories of mothers who threw their babies out right after birth - one boldly said "I could have aborted her until last week, what's the difference?" It makes my heart break.

It's pretty discouraging to face this mountain of negative public opinion on the matter of abortion but God's Word is very clear, and He is never lacking in encouragement for those who work in Pro-Life. I hope to see these attitudes change in my life-time :-)

Actually, Europe is the worst for abortion rates - especially the former Soviet block, where it has been used as birth control for generations. Some women who have made "Aliya" (immigrated) to Israel have had 8 or more abortions. It's sad."

Today I'm giving you a beautiful Butterfly. Butterflies symbolize new life. Let's honor the sanctity of God given life, especially the innocent life of unborn children and not incur the wrath of a just and holy God.

If we don't keep our eyes open we miss the tiny treasures that make this life wonderful! God's filled this world with such blessings just to give us joy. Now it's up to us to NOTICE them! :) What a loving Father He is!

The Word of God is the same. We can read or hear a passage over and over through the years and just take it at the surface, and so miss the truly rich depth of it that could change our lives. Let's take time to truly meditate on His Holy Word and pray for the Holy Spirit to do just what Jesus said He would when He said He would send Him to us...teach us all things -

  • "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you." John 14:26

A dear follower of this blog recently shared a couple of devotionals she received from The Word For Today. They were so powerful that I want to share them with you in prayer that you too will be blessed. Here is one of them:

Brokenness (1)

  • "'The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit.'" Psalm 51:17 NIV
A world that celebrates success doesn't see value in broken things. But God brings beauty out of brokenness. For a plant to rise from the soil the seed must be broken. For a baby chick to experience larger life the shell must be broken. Even a thoroughbred horse must be broken; it must learn to respond to the tug of the rein and the sound of the master's voice. Getting the idea? After a humbling encounter with Christ on the Damascus Road, Paul re-evaluated all the religious activity he once boasted about and called it 'dung' (Philippians 3:8 KJV). And you don't brag about dung, you're repulsed by it.

Brokenness is the work of God by which He strips us of self-sufficiency so that the character of Christ may shine through us. Now don't misunderstand; being broken doesn't necessarily mean experiencing some tragedy. Many people suffer tragedy without drawing closer to God or even acknowledging Him. Indeed, the same sunshine that melts the butter hardens the clay. The issue in brokenness is not so much our circumstances, but our response. What is God trying to teach us? True brokenness is when He strips us of self-sufficiency to the extent that we've no strength left to fix ourselves. When God blocks every exit we try to take and we come to see that He alone is our answer, we make a life changing discovery. 'And what's that?' you ask. When God is all you have - God is all you need! Bottom line: God's power is reserved for those who have given up trying to do it in their own strength or to accomplish it for their own ends!

MoneySaverTip20: Scrap Paper
We all need scrap paper. Grocery lists, notes at the phone, a million things. Why buy paper specifically for that? Save all the misprints from your computer printer, then do a magical thing...turn them over! One side is still perfectly good! Cut it into strips and put aside for notes! I have a stack next to me now that were fliers for church that were outdated. I could not possibly create the beautiful graphics God let's me be part of without scrap paper! I also use it to print anything on the printer that doesn't HAVE to be on a clean sheet. You've already paid for it - use it again before it adds to a land fill!
The total cost was $0 and time spent was about 0 minutes - no running out to the store to buy some! And how is this inspirational? We are to be good stewards of all God gives us! This is not only saving money, but recycling! Praise the Lord in ALL THINGS! If you'd like more of these, let me know and have a super day!

And speaking of papers, today I'm giving you a happy background paper warm as the summer sun!

A dear follower of this blog recently shared a couple of devotionals she received from The Word For Today. They were so powerful that I want to share them with you in prayer that you too will be blessed. Here is one of them:

'It is well with my soul'

  • "'Peace I leave with you...Do not let your hearts be troubled and...afraid.'" John 14:27 NIV
The peace Jesus gives brings a sense of assurance that no matter what happens you know 'it is well with my soul.' He says to us: 'Peace I leave with you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and...afraid.' The peace Jesus gives doesn't depend on conditions and circumstances. It comes from knowing you're God's child and that your Father controls the universe, loves you and always has your best interests at heart. That's why people who've lost everything will often tell you they wouldn't trade what they've learned, even if it meant recouping all their losses. Joni Erikson Tada discovered a supernatural peace when an accident confined her to a wheelchair, and Corrie Ten Boom found it in a Nazi death camp. Missionary Elisabeth Elliot found it ministering to the Indian tribe who massacred her husband. She wrote, 'Only in acceptance lies peace...not in resignation.' There's a big difference! Author Creath Davis points out that: 'Resignation is surrender to fate. Acceptance is surrender to God. Resignation lies down quietly in an empty universe. Acceptance rises up to meet the God who fills that universe with purpose and destiny. Resignation says, 'I can't.' Acceptance says, 'God can.' Resignation paralyses the life process. Acceptance releases the process for its greatest creativity. Resignation says, 'It's all over for me.' Acceptance says, 'Now that I'm here, what's next, Lord?' Resignation says, 'What a waste.' Acceptance says, 'In what redemptive way will you use this mess, Lord?' Resignation says, 'I'm alone.' Acceptance says, 'I belong to you, Lord.''

MoneySaverTip21: Make It Match
Our home was a foreclosure that had been vacant and vandalized for years before we got it. Even light switch covers and closet rods were gone - everything. This meant buying lots of light fixtures. I picked a look I loved at a lighting store that was not expensive, then asked for a discount. Because I got five in this series they gave me a contractor's discount.

Then I needed a pole lamp for the living room. I found one at Walmart with a similar elaborate pattern to it, but the colors were wrong. Amazingly the glass matched! I got a $.98 bottle of acrylic paint of the blue/green patina that was on the other fixtures. I painted it on the pole lamp, let it dry a little while and wiped it off with a dry cloth. It just stayed in the crevices making it look just like the rest of the fixtures. You see the foot and pole in this photo. No amount of washing over these 11 or so years hasn't altered it one bit!
The total cost was $.98 plus tax and time spent was about 15 minutes! And how is this inspirational? We are to be good stewards of all God gives us! This is not only saving money, but recycling! Praise the Lord in ALL THINGS! If you'd like more of these, let me know and have a super day!

Fear is a big problem for many of us, even those washed in the precious, saving blood of Christ. He really wants us to get this. We are not to fear anyone or anything but HIM! He admonishes us not to conform to the world around us even in what they fear.

  • "do not be in fear of what they fear, nor [make others afraid and] in dread. The Lord of hosts--regard Him as holy and honor His holy name [by regarding Him as your only hope of safety], and let Him be your fear and let Him be your dread [lest you offend Him by your fear of man and distrust of Him]. And He shall be a sanctuary [a sacred and indestructible asylum to those who reverently fear and trust in Him];" Isaiah 8:12-14
  • "Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows." Matthew 10:28-31
  • "For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, " Abba! Father!" Romans 8:15
  • "My Spirit is abiding in your midst; do not fear!" Haggai 2:5
  • "FEAR NOT, DAUGHTER OF ZION; BEHOLD, YOUR KING IS COMING" John 12:15
  • "But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed AND DO NOT FEAR THEIR INTIMIDATION, AND DO NOT BE TROUBLED, but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence" 1 Peter 3:14,15
  • "Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you will be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life." Revelation 2:10
  • Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful." John 14:27
Fear is actually an issue of faith. If we have given Him our lives and still fear, we are walking in the sin of unbelief because we do not believe the promises He has given us. If we believe what God has told us in His word, truly believe it fully and not just intellectually, then we need not fear. It is a dangerous thing to only believe intellectually. When the rubber meets the road we find out what we TRULY believe. Do we fear or do we live in His peace? I for one am striving to mature in Him to that place. Let's not be satisfied to live far below the blessings He has given us, but let's live true lives of faith and so not become enslaved again to fear as those in the world, and let's live in His peace that passes all understanding! What a gift!

It seems odd to me to hear so many stories on TV of people feeling the financial "pinch" these days and being completely unaware of how to optimize what they have. I have been surprised to find that not everyone has had to pinch every penny till it screams all their lives, because so many of us have. So I thought I'd share some things I do to save money and fill a need that could help someone. Soooo...

MoneySaverTip18: Twister Ties
We all get lots of twister ties from products we buy, bread, electronics, etc. Instead of throwing them out, collect them neatly like this and put them in your utility drawer for the next time you need one. They extra long ones are golden - take good care of them! Next time you need to close something just pull one out; they come out easily. Use them to close a bag; loosely attach a vine to it's supports; group computer cables together so they don't look so messy, don't go buy something special just for that - use your twister ties! I don't save the paper ones as the plastic hold up better for reuse and there are plenty of them.
The total cost was $0 and time spent was 0 minutes - no trip to the store! And how is this inspirational? We are to be good stewards of all God gives us! This is not only saving money, but recycling! Praise the Lord in ALL THINGS! If you'd like more of these, let me know and have a super day!

Today's freebie is a RedBud Branch Paper that can also be used as an overlay.

Peas Please!

Oh my, OH MY, oh MY!!!!! I have such a gem to share with you I couldn't wait for tomorrow's post! I've been out pick'n Peas!!! LOL Ok, time to make sense... I was looking through Digifree today and ended up at a blog who was talking about this site where she got wonderful Pea fonts. I do so wish I knew which site it was so I could give her a great big thank you hug! I had a couple of Peas and love them, but I had no idea there are TONS of them! She linked to kevinandamanda.com and it's such a beautiful and easy to use site by a very sweet girl. I couldn't find the Peas and dropped her a line. She wrote back very quickly and sent me the link to the Peas. I've just "picked a mess of peas" and you should too! I doubt you'll ever need any other handwriting fonts for your scrapping! So why are you still here? Praise God and GO! :)
Remember - JESUS CHRIST IS LORD!

MoneySaverTip19: Phone Bill

We've saved a bundle since canceling long distance service to our home phone and buying an AT&T phone card from Sam's Club for only pennies per minute that we use for long distance calling. It doesn't expire and we are "paying" only when we use it, not every day of the month! It's a good way to keep track of how much you're talking long distance too!

The total cost was whatever the card was including tax and time spent was nothing because I was already there shopping. And how is this inspirational? We are to be good stewards of all God gives us! This is not only saving money, but recycling! Praise the Lord in ALL THINGS! If you'd like more of these, let me know and have a super day!

I'm having such fun taking time off working on the blog and making LOs I may just stop making freebies! Just kidding! :) Click to enlarge if you like! Such a shame to mess them up to hide identities, but that's life!
I used part of Template CD_Template_BH128_15pics by someone who didn't put their name on it & Bugs by http://sweetgenevievedesigns.com.

And on this one I used part of a 12" template by elizabeth@albersmail.com. Just a suggestion, when working with really messed up images, (like two of these had streaks from a dying camera), just make them worse to look like you meant them to be that way. I turned them black & white, added streaks to other pictures to make it look uniform and added noise, being sure the contrast and such were optimal. I removed color from her fluorescent sunsuit because it was distracting. Now you notice her adorable face - or would if I hadn't obscured it!!! :)

And here's yet more...amazing how prolific you can be when you stop sleeping! LOL! The shot on the left is a great fav of mine. I took it in my garden in full sun in February (08). This is the best extracting I've ever done. Haven't been as successful with wispy hair since. :( And yes, that's me in there. For this one I adapted a template from www.thepaperiristutorials.blogspot.com; Brown Paper http://digiscrapouille.canalblog.com; Brackets http://vicki20.blogspot.com; Flowers, Bow, Paper & Butterflies www.carolascraps.blogspot.com.

ON SUFFERING
A dear Sister-in-Christ who follows this blog shared openly with me about how her health problems and physical challenges affect her spiritually sometimes. So much has been taken from her. I too have been sickly and injured all my life, having lost much ability myself. I laughingly tell people it’s just my Lord keeping me from being too attached to this body so I’m ready when He calls me to trade it in on the new one! LOL ! But our Father knows what He’s doing and we must rest in His hands.

I so identify with what she said about everything being taken from her (physically) and how she sometimes struggles spiritually with it. I’ve lived my entire adult life that way. I was early 20’s when so much had been taken that I didn’t feel like a woman any more. Through the years I have been blessed to have things restored that I thought were gone forever, then only to loose them again after a short season. I have been so grateful that I have been granted PhotoShop these recent years, a comfort for all that’s gone. But even this is not without a price in physical suffering.

I don’t know if it will help, but what God has shown me about my physical condition, is that I’m seeing it from too close up. I walk through the pain, disability and loss and see only that. Sometimes I feel unloved because my prayers go un-granted. I wonder if I’m truly under His grace. Is He mad at me? Why does my husband pray for others and He heals them, but no amount of prayer eases my suffering? I must be very wicked and I’m kidding myself that I’m saved. But I check the word of God and ask the Holy Spirit to show me my heart, and I have indeed done as the Bible demands to be saved and my every waking thought with all my heart is to please Him, my heart aching for Him, my hope entirely in Him. Is He a liar? Though every man be proven a liar, God does not lie. Romans 3:4 Therefore I AM under His grace, I AM indeed loved! He will keep His word and will carry me to heaven one day just as He’s promised because it’s not about how I “feel” spiritually. It’s about His keeping His word. It’s about Jesus’ work on the cross being complete and sufficient. And once again I can smile deep within knowing that despite what I must walk through daily, it is well with my soul! Praise God!

He has shown me that because I am human, I see my situation too closely and on too limited a scale. He sees all and understands all. He’s promised to cause ALL things to work together for good for those that love Him and are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 I do so love Him and I serve Him in every way I know how and from the heart, so that promise is MINE whether I “feel” it or not!

He showed me that what I see as pain, suffering and loss, is having a very different effect on my spirit man even though I can’t see it myself. As I walk through it all minute by minute, cleaving closely to Him and consciously choosing to believe His word over my own thoughts and feelings, all this is sanding and polishing me spiritually. He is sculpting a radiantly beautiful and useful soul from what I once was. He is transforming my spirit into a thing of beauty for His glory, and yours too! Sanding isn't comfortable, but the result is worth it.

So take courage. You do not walk this difficult path alone and it’s not just dumb luck. You have given your life to Him and belong to the Most High God - nothing will happen to you that isn’t included in His promise to bring good to you from even the worst of it. It just might be eternal good rather than physical good here. He has a plan to prosper you and not to harm you. Jeremiah 29:11 What we see as evil and harmful for this time is actually preparing a harvest most glorious for the eternal life to come, if we walk through it close to Him, believing His word above all.

And for those of the “hyperfaith” movement who would persecute those of us already overwhelmed with our physical burdens by telling us it’s our own fault, telling us that if we had “faith” we’d be healed, go back to the word of God. Note that there are countless incidents where God did not heal, where it was to God’s glory that one bear physical suffering. He does indeed heal, just not everyone, not every time. You have to know the martyrs prayed for their deliverance and that of their loved ones, but many were tortured to death. Sometimes the fact that God sees the big picture of what our walking through these things with Him will bring about in eternal fruit means He does not grant every prayer for healing or deliverance here.

It is absolutely un-Christian for one to add to another's burden of suffering by telling them it’s their fault or God would heal them. That’s not God. That can break a person’s faith entirely and you wouldn’t want that to account for on the Day of Judgment! Not only have they pled with their God to heal them and not been healed, but now brethren are telling them it’s their fault, that their Christianity is so flawed that this has happened to them. We are told to visit, encourage, love on those who are ill, not make their burden unbearable and destroy their faith in the process. Encourage them to believe for healing, but remind them that when they walk through suffering with the right attitude, close to God, it glorifies Him and can even cause others to come to Him and be saved.

In response to those who would tell you that if you speak it out loud you have “brought it into existence”, that’s ridiculous! It’s already in existence is why you are saying it! You have to acknowledge a problem exists before you can pray for help! God knows what’s going on, so what’s the point of trying to keep it secret? We are to bear one another’s burdens, and that’s done by people sharing what’s wrong and us listening, loving, praying for them and meeting any physical needs that we can. When we share our suffering, we need to remember that we are to do all things without grumbling and complaining. It’s all in the attitude. We can state negative things that are going on in our lives and not be complaining. We are to encourage one another.

If we are so invested in “looking perfect” to those we worship with that we don’t let them know there are problems, then we forfeit the blessing of having many join their prayers with ours and the power that comes with that. We are also guilty of the sin of pride. “If two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven.” Matt. 18;19 There is power in having people join with us agreeing in prayer!

There is also a time and place to help one who is suffering to review scriptural possibilities for their suffering, just in case. But this is ONLY when they are asking for this and won’t feel attacked. This is NOT done with an attitude of us expecting there to be something sinful we can blame them for. This is a child our God LOVES and gave His life for and they are suffering! This is only to offer information that the Holy Spirit might use to bring them relief. Don’t do it if you aren’t coming at it in all gentleness, humility and love, looking to yourself lest you too be guilty. Galatians 6:1 Some may not have read their Bibles enough to know there there are indeed some things we may have done to bring suffering upon ourselves and if we will stop and repent, God may indeed remove it. For instance the Bible clearly states that if we take the Lord’s Supper/Communion in a manner unworthy, many have become sick and some died. 1 Corinthians 11:28-31 We know that having un-repented sin in our lives could result in suffering so we should ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any sin in our lives we need to repent of. Then there are lifestyle choices that can cause suffering and should be stopped and repented of as our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit of God. 1 Corinthians 6:19 Read God’s laws for care of the tabernacle in the Old Testament. It’s serious that we honor His temple in us and take care of our bodies. Sometimes God will miraculously lift the consequences of those sins and sometimes He let’s us walk through them. This is an opportunity to bear fruit for eternity by being sure to walk it close to Him and in obedience to His word.

She said she often feels bewildered as to what she's to do with her life because of so many limitations. Could it be that He's polishing you so much that your purpose in life for this season is to glorify Him by how you are walking this difficult path with Him? Could it be that He's caused your light to shine so brightly that your function in this life is mainly to be set high on a lampstand to light those around you, not only for His glory, but also to draw others to Him that they also might be saved simply by your example? It isn't our wish to be unable to do those things we enjoy or even need to do, but might it be that you are meant for a higher calling in His service at this time? To simply glow and your life be an encouragement to others? There seems to me to be no higher calling at all. Glorifying God in this dark world. Being used to encourage others simply by seeing how you walk with God. Drawing others to Him for salvation as they see you have something they don't and they want it too. Being a light in this present darkness. Isn't that almost everything that will matter eternally and not end with this life?

His grace is sufficient for us. 2 Corinthians 12:9 I pray this helps dear sisters!

Today I'm giving you a cuddly Teddy Bear to comfort you, from my heart to yours.

Soooo...

MoneySaverTip17: Floral Arrangement & Pillars
I love this! It looks so elegant and expensive! First the floral arrangement. I go outside in the fall and collect all manner of things nature has already dried to perfection for me. I put them on a foil lined cookie sheet in the oven at the lowest heat for an hour with the door slightly ajar to kill any bug eggs. Watch carefully so nothing catches on fire. Then I store them till I need them. This floral arrangement has quite a few lovely dried elements in it. You might notice the dried Magnolia Pods I've given you among them. The rest of the arrangement is simply some silk greens that I got on clearance for very little, but they have glints of weathered gold in some edges and are weathered green on top with rust underneath. I mixed in some ordinary English Ivy for more interest. They are in a container that cost almost nothing.

Total cost about $20 and the time it took was sheer joy!

Now for it's equally expensive looking pillar. Remember when I was suggesting shopping for damaged items to save money? I knew that I wanted a weathered look, so when I was looking at plaster pillars, I looked for one with some damage that wouldn't be structurally compromising. It was the only one of this style, so I asked for a discount for the damage and received it. I paid $8 for the pillar. Then I bought three colors of patio paint to achieve a patina look. They cost $1.97 each. I took a screwdriver and worked on the cracks to make them more interesting and then added a few more of my own. See the arrows? I wiped it down to remove any loose plaster powder and then painted it with a sponge and a brush, letting it dry between coats. If you don't like a stroke, paint over it and voila! Don't think plaster would hold up? I just took this picture and the pillar is 12 years old and has gone through a household move. I kept the paints for minor touch ups as needed. I've only had to touch up a couple of times and you'd never know it.
The total cost was $15.02 including tax and time spent was maybe an hour if I remember correctly.

For this pillar I did the same except the painting. I covered it entirely with a $.98 can of bronze spray paint. When it was dried, I covered it with cream colored acrylic paint for $1.98. When it was partly dried I took a rag and wiped part of it off till I liked how it looked. The color works perfectly with the grout in the brick wall behind it. These are quick, easy, CHEAP ways to live better and save a bundle!
The total cost was $10.96 including tax and time spent was maybe an hour if I remember correctly. And how is this inspirational? We are to be good stewards of all God gives us! This is not only saving money, but recycling! Praise the Lord in ALL THINGS! If you'd like more of these, let me know and have a super day!

These are another I made looooong ago with a free action from an unknown creator. Non-fat guaranteed!
