Magic Cards!!!!

Hi!  It's been a while since I'm posted, so I have something REALLY special for you!  First, as always, the important stuff - thoughts for the day:

"Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it. For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard. For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said, “AS I SWORE IN MY WRATH, THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST,” " Hebrews 4:1-3

This verse hit me today as I have been pondering the difference of mere "belief" versus actual "faith". There is a difference and it's vital. Jesus Himself said, "when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:8 Since He said, "without faith it is impossible to please Him" Hebrews 11:6, it's very important.

Belief is like mentally agreeing with walking on the water with Jesus.
Faith is stepping out of the boat and doing it, expecting it to work.

That's what I want! And since it's not possible to please Him without it, it's a necessity to move from mere belief, to deep faith.

"You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder." The demons believe and they aren't saved! James 2:19

Now for the goodies!
When I saw this amazing card by Cathy, I just had to try one for myself.  It's a line drawing, then you pull the ribbon and it's colored!  Cathy has a great tut, so click her image to go to it.

Cathy used stamps and markers for her image, but I don't have either.  I ran right out and looked at some.  Mmmmm.  As always, it was way too much money.  So, put on the thinking cap!  Back to my beloved PhotoShop!!!  She gave dimensions in her tut, but they didn't work with my "cards".  I cut an 8.5x11" piece of cardstock in two, then fold each in two to make two cards.  I have envelopes to fit, so all my cards need to be that size.   It's been the  most economical way I've found.  I designed the card in PS to fit "my" card and then made templates to use, and as always, when I do this for myself, I share the wealth with all of you!

I needed a cute design to bring the magic to life!  I love Delphine Doreau's whimsical characters.  It's ok with her to use them for personal use for family.  It's so generous of her, but she can't let me share the image here due to copyright issues.   One of her's was the perfect choice.   You should drop by and check out her work.  Sadly, not being able to share her image defeats the purpose of the preview. You can see the "magic" in Cathy's image above.

So today's gift is the template set to make your own "magic card" in PS.  No trouble because the stamp is too large or small for your project!!  Colors don't work?  Pick your papers first, then change the colors of the main design to match in PS!!!!  Don't you just LOVE PS????  The possibilities are endless!  Uber customizable and sooooooo cheap this way!

I included directions on the templates.  To make a card you need:
  • PhotoShop (of course!)
  • two sheets of white cardstock
  • two small pieces of coordinating cardstock
  • a tansparency
  • printer
  • small piece of ribbon
  • hole punch
  • glue
  • double stick tape
  • scissors
  • trimmer
  • envelope to fit

When my husband saw the one I made for my niece, he wanted me to make cards for the grandchildren too.  That's pretty high praise from him!  Thanks Cathy for the idea and Delphine for the lovely design!!!! mind is full of scenes of little ones opening their cards and discovering the magic!!!!  :)
